heat output
- Firstly, if you haven't already done so - use our heat calculator to work out your specific requirements for your room to ensure you are looking at the right size heated towel rail.
- As this is a dual fuel model you would work this out twice - once for central heating and then again for electric to ensure the respective outputs this rail gives match both requirements - use the central heating as the lead source and just closest match the electric output.

what is a dual fuel towel rail?
- Dual fuel means you can run the same towel rail in two ways — as electric via the use of a heating element in the summer (when you may only want to dry your towels or clothes) and as central heating in the winter (when the full system is on).
- The water inside the towel rail comes from your central heating system as normal — when the main system is off this water will sit idle, and in the summer the element installed in the towel rail will warm the water located inside just this towel rail. You can keep both of the valves open.

the heated towel rail
- QUADRUS SLIM is designed with a single-layer bar configuration.
- The flat bars and closely spaced gaps create a distinctive, fuller appearance compared to standard ladder rails.
- The front bars protrude from the uprights, providing a generous space for easily hanging towels.
- Made from low carbon mild steel.
...full range of sizes available
- In addition to the sizes we are displaying here on the heat is on - you can view the full range of 4 different sizes of QUADRUS SLIM here on the Terma website.
- When viewing the Terma website, the heat outputs are only listed in Watts - using the column header stating 75/65/20, multiply the amounts by 3.41 to get the BTUs equivalent.
- If you want to learn more about heat output, view our technical guide on heat output.
- We can process a special order for any size you wish to purchase if that size is not shown on our website.
the specialist dual fuel valve
- This specialist dual fuel valve is the best valve to for a dual fuel towel rail as the flow/return is located on the same side of the radiator — leaving the opposing side free for the heating element (so no T-Piece is required, unlike a standard dual fuel set-up).
- The flow and return travel through the valve via the immersion tube: flow goes up the tube and the return comes back down the outside of the tube.
- Angled orientation.
- Choose left or right side as you need for your specific installation - see the image which shows both orientations show side by side to see which suits your room setup and pipework setup best.
the heating element
- Features the internalised ONE heating element which is fully integrated within this dual fuel towel rail version for a minimalist design when compared to other electric towel rails on the market.
- Sleek, concealed design with no external components of the heating element visible at the bottom of the rail.
- Has the option to also fully conceal the cable from view (as seen in the lifestyle shots) - see installation section below for more notes on this.
...element specifics
- Element is pre fitted inside the electric towel rail - located on the left or right hand side (as specified in your chosen configuration - see the demo image). Think about where your electric supply will be so the wire has the shortest distance to travel.
- Control button discreetly located on the underside, with a miniature front-facing LED panel.
- Supplied with 1.5m cable for connection to a fused spur (no plug included).
- Cable exits discreetly through the bottom mounting bracket above the heating element and can be fed in through the wall for a super neat installation (or if you cannot trowel out your wall you may leave the cable hanging free).
- Quick and simple installation; no commissioning required.
...controls & operation
- The Terma Internal ONE heating element has two heat settings: 45°C and 60°C, indicated by multi-coloured LED.
- It is controlled through one button located on the underside.
- 2-hour drying function for convenient timed heating.
- Compatible with external timers, retaining settings when switched off.
- Includes an Infrared (IR) receiver for use with Terma TTIR portable thermostat / controllers or DTIR wall mounted controllers (sold separately).
- Accurate internal temperature regulation for consistent heating performance.
...straight cable vs. spiral cable
- If your electric supply is very close to the towel rail the spiral cable option will keep the cable tight and coiled. See the demo images to see the straight vs. spiral.
- As this item is made to order you can configure it exactly as you'd like it to be made for you.
colour & finish
- Heated Towel Rail is Painted in Metallic Stone.
- Finished in a matt, rough texture.
- This is a standard powder paint.
safety & compliance
- Fully built and tested to EN442 standards and UKCA certified.
- Heat outputs are independently verified by an external testing house to ensure accuracy.
guarantee & warranty
- 2-year manufacturer’s warranty (heating element).
- Usual lifespan of a heating element is 4 to 7 years dependent on use.
- At end of life, if you wish to replace an internalised heating element, the unit needs to go back to Terma UK for replacement due to how it is made. Alternatively, you can simply purchase a whole new unit.
- Note: You can also special order an alternative version of this towel rail with the external ONE version, where the element is the same colour but sits on the outside of the model and can be easily replaced at end of life. Click here to see what an external ONE element looks like.
- 12-year manufacturer’s warranty (radiator).
