Here at the heat is on, we put the knowledge of what you need directly in your hands as the homeowner, so you needn’t ask or wait for information from your plumber. Here we give you complete expert guidance for this specific designer radiator — including details of any additional parts required — so you can ensure a smooth and successful installation when your tradesman arrives.
heat output
- Firstly, if you haven't already done so – use our heat calculator to work out your specific requirements for your room, ensuring you are selecting the correct size designer radiator in terms of the BTUs heat output it provides.
design & material
- ROLO ROOM features large, chunky 40mm diameter bars deliver powerful and efficient heat output.
- A recessed front bar design creates generous internal channels, allowing rapid water distribution and fast heat-up times.
- An internal diverter system assists your installer in optimising water flow depending on the chosen pipework configuration.
- Part of the wider ROLO family, with matching radiators, mirror radiators, and towel rails available for a cohesive interior scheme.
- Made from low carbon mild steel.
- Additionally, we have created a thorough and detailed technical guide on central heating radiators, giving even more information and tips.
colour & finish
- Painted in Brass (premium wet paint).
- Finished in a metallic, smooth texture.
- This is a premium wet paint which is painted using a hand finished liquid paint (as opposed to an automated powder paint - so this paint is more expensive). This creates a deeper more metallic type finish.
- Note: If you don't have the budget for a premium wet paint - the closest colour match to this colour in a powder paint would be the Halo colour - which is not quite a brass and a slightly darker gold - which will cost the same as the standard powder colours (like the pastel blue for example). You'll need to call us to request this colour as we don't list this model in Halo on the website yet.
- A 150×50mm colour chip of this finish is available to purchase for preview (link to colour chip will be on right-hand side of page).
- Additionally, we have created a thorough and detailed technical guide on paint finishes and colours giving even more information and tips.
installation & orientation
- Fully matching colour brackets painted in the same finish as the radiator itself.
- These 500mm high (fence like) models of ROLO ROOM with vertical bars are horizontal installation only (albeit they may work vertically) - we don't present them this way as they tend to look more look towel rails.
- These 500mm high (fence like) models offer side entry only valves.
- An internal diverter system forces the water up and over internally which ensures all bars get equally hot as the water is forced all over.
advice on which valves to purchase for piped installation (central heating)
- This radiator is not supplied with valves, as we have such a vast selection of styles & colours to choose from, we do not include them (like some other retailers) as we cannot make this choice on your behalf.
- However, we make choosing the correct valves very easy for you. With our years of experience, we know once homeowners have chosen their radiator the valve selection process can be a little daunting — and even the plumber won't make the best choice for you in terms of aesthetics. You need to do this yourself, as remember you are left looking at the installation once the plumber has gone - often we have spoken to homeowners who have been disappointed with how the poor valve choice or absence of pipes & covers have let down the look - don't let this be you.
- On the right-hand side of this page we have pre-filtered our vast selection of valves to show you only the optimal valves for this specific model — easy — you'll see two sections of valves:
- 1. matching/complementary colour valve & pipe sets — these could be an exact match (as they are painted using the same paint as the radiators) or the closest complementary match (dependent on whether we list valves in the exact matching paint here on our site). Note: If you don't see an exact match but specifically want one, please contact us — we'll likely be able to special order these for you. These valves come complete with pipes and wall covers which will conceal the standard copper or plastic pipes of your central heating system for a much more professional looking finish.
- 2. standard valve & pipe sets — these are more economical standard valves which are not painted using the same paints as the radiators, so will never match. We show the closest colour only. These are not sold as sets; if you'd like pipes/covers, these need to be purchased separately.
-
which orientation of valves do I need : 3-Axis (corner), straight or angled?
- 1. your central heating pipework comes through the wall — typically most modern pipework comes through the wall now and for this you'll need 3-axis corner valves. If your pipework is not yet in - our best advice is to ask your plumber to bring this through the wall.
- 2. your central heating pipework comes through the floor — you'll need angled valves.
- Additionally, we have created a thorough and detailed technical guide on radiator valves, giving even more information and tips.
