Here at the heat is on, we put the knowledge of what you need directly in your hands as the homeowner, so you needn’t ask or wait for information from your plumber. Here we give you complete expert guidance for this specific designer radiator — including details of any additional parts required — so you can ensure a smooth and successful installation when your tradesman arrives.
heat output
- Firstly, if you haven't already done so – use our heat calculator to work out your specific requirements for your room, ensuring you are selecting the correct size designer radiator in terms of the BTUs heat output it provides.
design & material
- CYKLON H is a unique radiator design inspired by the dynamic element of strong wind.
- The model can be fitted either way up, but must be ordered as a left or right-hand version.
- O8 is flat front-facing bars on the right.
- O1 is flat front-facing bars on the left.
- Features flat bars with a subtle return angle, creating a distinctive sculptural effect.
- Original form achieved through precision bending of flat steel pipes.
- Combines functional heating with a visually striking, modern design.
- Additionally, we have created a thorough and detailed technical guide on central heating radiators, giving even more information and tips.
full range of sizes available
- In addition to the sizes we are displaying here on the heat is on, you can view the full range of 8 different sizes of CYKLON H here on the Terma website.
- When viewing the Terma website, heat outputs are only listed in Watts – using the column header stating 75/65/20, multiply the amounts by 3.41 to get the BTUs equivalent.
- If you want to learn more about heat output, view our technical guide on heat output.
- We can process a special order for any size you wish to purchase if that size is not shown on our website.
colour & finish
- Painted in Brass (premium wet paint).
- Finished in a metallic, smooth texture.
- This is a premium wet paint which is painted using a hand finished liquid paint (as opposed to an automated powder paint - so this paint is more expensive). This creates a deeper more metallic type finish.
- Note: If you don't have the budget for a premium wet paint - the closest colour match to this colour in a powder paint would be the Halo colour - which is not quite a brass and a slightly darker gold - which will cost the same as the standard powder colours (approx. 25% less). You'll need to call us to request this colour as we don't list this model in Halo on the website yet.
- A 150×50mm colour chip of this finish is available to purchase for preview (link to colour chip will be on right-hand side of page).
- Additionally, we have created a thorough and detailed technical guide on paint finishes and colours, giving even more information and tips.
installation & orientation
- Designed exclusively as a vertical (portrait) radiator and cannot be installed horizontally.
- Compatible with standard central heating systems.
advice on which valves to purchase for piped installation (central heating)
- This radiator is not supplied with valves, as we offer a vast selection of styles and colours. We do not include them because we cannot make this aesthetic choice on your behalf.
- Choosing the correct valves is easy with our guidance. Once a radiator has been chosen, valve selection can feel daunting — even plumbers rarely make the best aesthetic choice. As the homeowner, this decision is best made by you.
- On the right-hand side of this page we have pre-filtered our valve selection to show only the optimal valves for this specific model. You’ll see two sections:
- 1. matching/complementary colour valve & pipe sets — either an exact match (painted using the same paint as the radiator) or the closest complementary match, depending on availability. These valves come complete with pipes and wall covers for a professional finish.
- 2. standard valve & pipe sets — more economical standard valves which are not painted to match the radiator. Pipes and covers must be purchased separately.
-
Which orientation of valves do I need: 3-axis (corner), straight or angled?
- 1. Pipework through the wall — typically most modern pipework comes through the wall, and for this you'll need angled valves. If your pipework is not yet in place, ask your plumber to bring it through the wall.
- 2. Pipework through the floor — you'll need straight valves.
- Additionally, we have created a thorough and detailed technical guide on radiator valves, giving even more information and tips.
